Vanishing PointAired November 27, 2002 Sorry, everyone. Try as we might, we couldn't come up with one Trip/T'Pol shippy moment. Any suggestions? Instead, we will provide screencaps of the episode. Lots of Trip! Some of these are based on the list created by pookha.
A whole mess of folks have made commentsY'all have to find one with his nipples. Must. Have. Nipples. I did like Counselor Trip the best, followed closely by Grieving Trip, with Calming Trip coming in third. an episode about hoshi but also featuring the many faces of chief trip. well it is hard finding shippy moments in some one else's bad transporter trip. though you wonder about hoshi's odd relationship with t'pol in here. i almost wonder if at one time hoshi had some hmm feeling toward our man trip but just thought forget it after witnessing all of those looks the dynamic duo give each other while on the bridge. our maybe t'pol with all of her authority is just overwhelming though. but i was a little suprised that hoshi seems to still have issues with t'pol after things seemed to be worked out in vox sola. what is interesting is the overwhelming sense of isolation that comes
from hoshi before she really starts to disappear. but you are right not much shippy stuff here.. i kept on thinking to bad t'pol wasnt there to check out trip in the trainer. i am sure she would have a far better comment when trip says you are upside down ensign. sigh.. well next week is the repeat of one of the all time great flirt sessions at dinner carbon creek. watch trip ask t'pol for a story and ask her for the 80th time her age.
see the classic look t'pol gives him. what may also make carbon creek worth another look see is to check how much new stuff gets added in rerun. they added on extra trip/t'pol footage onto the bridge scene in shockwave pt 2. but i cant wait till two weeks from now where it looks like we will get tempted trip crash landing with padma down on a mud planet. hmm Okay...am I the only one who thinks that Connor's spending a wee bit too much time in the gym? I mean, the ratio of biceps to face size is starting to get a bit awry. Muscled is good. Musclebound...too much of a good thing. Or am I the only holder of that opinion? Overall, I liked the episode. Folks who weren't so concerned with similarities to other stories in other genres got a good character-insight picture of Hoshi. Thanks for the great screen caps,it's nice to see what we are missing
in the UK! Loved the pix of "Trip the defeated sleuth"!!! no i just think the shoulders looked defined here. LOL, Laughing Muse. I think Trip is deliberately flexing here in Pic 12. Note he's even doing the classic Men's Health pose, complete with cheesy grin. So he might not be musclebound so much as the beneficiary of a generous camera angle. Great pics as usual, Myst. I love this piece of editorialising: "Yes, we know this isn't a picture of Hoshi." :-D ...generous camera angle... *snorrkkkk* Lo Pan, you owe me a new keyboard!!! (Was that phrase, mayhap, a souvenir of your L.A. sojourn?) the one possible shippy moment in really what is hoshi's nightmare.. in the mess hall she is approaching a table with trip, malcolm and
travis. you dont hear the beginning of the comments that started everything off but you hear snatches of conversation mixed in with the laughter. they sound like.. Laughing Muse, how did you guess? ;-) My question is, when ppl say that the camera adds ten pounds, does the extra weight all go to the face, or does it get distributed evenly? For that matter, can it all go to a person's biceps and bypass the face altogether? These are the *deep* philosophical questions that I ponder on a lazy Sunday afternoon. (Btw, sorry about the keyboard!) Lo Pan, We just call the scenes as we see them. We know Hoshi was in this episode somewhere, but we just couldn't find her. No editorializing going on here. Laughing Muse, I have to agree with Miss Thang - Trip + arms = good. I'm sure that is sound Vulcan logic. I will leave the two of you to debate pounds added by the camera. And I
don't EVEN want to know about the keyboard (was it a vanilla
latte?). I enjoyed the comments already posted as much as I did the show itself! That gravity trainer thingee - made me queasy, but he looked great using it! And for the record, all of Trip looked mighty nice to me! Is it just me, or does Dr. Phlox always seem to pooh-pooh ailments when someone goes to Sickbay? First in the show when Trip lost his hand..."Oh, it will be all right". Then last week with Mayweather...well, he WAS affected by radiation in that show. Now last night, poor Hoshi.....ok, so that wasn't EXACTLY him either. lol When are the Trip shows coming up? Precious Cargo in 2 weeks, right? *warming up VCR and hoping it doesn't fail me* ^ Chortles. Don't you know, Carol Ann, it's all "Optimism!" for Dr. Phlox. What's the deal with all the invisibility/ visibility gags this season? So far, we've had cloaked Suliban ships, decloaking Romulan ones, rematerialising appendages, and vanishing Hoshis (winks at Myst)... I suppose you could argue that Trip/T'Pol scenes have vanished recently, too. :-( But I'm sure they'll decloak soon enough. They have to. The People have spoken. Btw, not to be a spoilsport, but it's worth keeping in mind that the ep was called Vanishing Point, not Expanding Bicep. ;-) I have no problem with biceps... a Stripped Trip is a good Trip I say. ahhh dredel.. and it was really nice to see the return of counselor trip. now we just need to see trip the engineer and of course eventually trip the guy for t'pol. ;) precious cargo looks to be "real " interesting. the only thing i would like better then that would be for a real trip
and t'pol love scene. trip has another big role coming up in an episode called "dawn" and
then there is another where he has to rescue not only has to rescue t'pol
and archer which as martha say is a good thing but also everyone's fav
vulcan ambassador soval. i have a couple of questions that i want to throw out.. first for the astute observers here.. just wondering.. the other is about the pillow she is clutching when she comes back from
being tortured by the suliban. did any one notice from an earlier episode say fusion or breaking the
ice. thanks Topless Trip......Yeah baby!....that gets my vote. That scene in Desert Crossing when the shirt and glasses come off when they play that game (Geskana-sp?) where he hurts his ribs.....Yummmmm.... Precious Cargo and Dawn too? *does backflips* Yippee...more Trip! I missed some of the first season's shows....did they ever show Trip's quarters? Maybe a snippet in the opening ep this year when they were all confined to their quarters. I know Archer's, T'Pol's, and now Hoshi's (nice shower too)....don't remember much about Trip's at all. Ahh....back to optimistic Dr. Phlox and feeding his leeches....lol!!!!! Did I hear in one of the shows the dude has 3 wives??? Okay...is it just me or does Trip look like he's channeling James T. Kirk in that 'transporting Trip' shot? :p Laughing Muse, as far as the arms go I think it's just that particular angle...I hadn't noticed his arms being that substantially larger in any other eps(like Marauders, when he had on the short-sleeved native garb). Though I had noticed that Dominic Keating's arms look bigger this season too...maybe he and CT are trying to compete with Anthony Montgomery? ;) you actually see trip's quaters several times in shockwave.. what i noticed in the transporting shots was in the one right before
the shirt is zipped all the way to the top..
interesting comment t'dax.. phlox does have three wives.,. but they also have other husbands and he
also has grown children.. as for leeches .. well even know we use specially grown sterile ones in hospitals..
oh and another observation about t'pols quaters. http://triptpolers.houseoftucker.com/gallery/shockwave_part_2.shtml Before i got to watch the ep (yes, i missed it Wed. and had to wait for Sun.) the pics helped me to want to SEE the ep (with all the HORRIBLE reviews on this one even I didn't really wanna see it) but now that i've seen it, the pics are sinmply humourous as always "Yes, we know this isn't a picture of Hoshi arriving." lol... i'm easily amused maybe.... hmmm.... I know this is really, really late, but I just have to say that I love the pictures of Hoshi arriving on the transporter-and I must say, I'm so glad that those aren't pictures of Hoshi. Thanks, myst, for indulging us Trip/Reed 'shippers a bit. ;) I think this site needs more pics of the ultra hot workout scene. hahaha *thud* Return to Image Gallery menu |
