Chivalry- Ch 4Chivalry is Dead By The Cursor Disclaimers in Chapter One
*********** “I-I have to go.” Seri watched Tucker leaving the Mess Hall with her jaw hanging open, unsure of what he was reacting to. “Commander Tucker…” He didn’t even turn around, just hurried away without even looking back at them. His sudden departure had left Seri shocked and suddenly weary. What had she done now? T’Pol on the other hand seemed, as always, indifferent. She sat down in the chair Trip had vacated in his rush to escape and stared down her distracted younger sister. She cared little for her former lover’s outburst because she had more pressing concerns on her mind. “What are you doing here, sister?” “I am eating lunch, will the Commander be alright?” “I do not recall being informed of your visit ahead of time.” Seri’s eyes darted from T’Pol to the door and back again. They had seemed to be getting along so well, why did he leave? “I didn’t have time, T’Pol.” She knew that something was wrong with her new friend and that it needed to be fixed quickly. “That is not a proper-“ Seri absently muttered an ‘Excuse me’ as she stood up and followed Tucker’s path out of the mess hall. From her chair, T’Pol mentally filed her sister’s actions away for later reference and took a small bite of undressed salad. ************************************************************************************* Tucker stood in the deserted hallway, softly banging his head against the wall at a slow and steady pace. Her sister. He meets a fascinating woman with great conversational skills, someone he actually seemed to be having a good time with and who did she turn out to be? T’Pol’s sister. Her fucking sis- “Commander?” Tucker’s head held still as Seri’s voice reached his ear. He didn’t even have to turn around to know she was standing behind him with a concerned look on her face, a look of pity. He heard her sliding up next to him carefully, probably worried that she was going to do something else to make him leave. He swallowed nervously when she got a little too close for comfort. She had no idea did she? She was completely oblivious wasn’t she? It was better he kept it that way… “Seri. Sorry for rushing out like that but I just needed to be alone for a minute.” Seri smiled briefly, reaching out to pat her new friend on the shoulder but frowned when Tucker moved away suddenly. “Commander, I thought you promised me lunch?” “Uh yeah. Sorry, but I forgot I had work to do.” He didn’t turn around, just kept his back to her in order to hide the nervous panic written all over his face, “I guess I’ll have to write you a rain check.” “Some other time then?” “Yeah…sure.” And then he left again, his footsteps rhythmically echoing through the hallway. ************************************************************************************** T’Pol alone at the table in the Mess Hall, staring at the two chairs that her sister and Commander Tucker had been occupying less then a minute ago. There was a frown slowly spreading across her face but by sheer force of will, she kept it from appearing and being expressed as an emotion. Interesting. For some reason she found herself suddenly desiring the Commander’s company this evening. In spite of extended meditation time and a week of mental concentration, T’Pol once again felt the warm rush of sexual feeling spread through her lower body and up her spine to heat her face. Mr. Tucker’s very presence had caused her to become aroused. It was as though she was somehow attuned to him and his masculine scent. Naturally she would ignore these feelings as Mr. Tucker was no longer a viable recreational outlet for the previously stated feelings but their appearance was at least worth note. Purely for the sake of scientific study, of course. Distantly, T’Pol found a small part of her brain asking a very inappropriate question filled with a great deal of undesired emotion. ‘What was he doing with Seri?’ it asked but it was quickly dismissed as being illogical. She took another bite of her salad. ************************************************************************************** For various reasons, Ensign Hoshi Sato tried not to look up as Malcolm Reed passed by her on the way to his station. For one thing eye contact with women made Malcolm slightly uncomfortable. On more then one occasion, Hoshi had witnessed the normally unshakable military man melt into a stuttering jellyfish when ever a female crewmember accidentally looked in the eye and smiled. Since he was currently in command, it was probably best for the entire ship that his confidence remain fully intact. Also, Hoshi had spent the last two years trying to seduce the poor Mr. Reed and would’ve preferred not to play her hand too quickly. Oh she’d heard of Malcolm’s reputation as a ladies’ man, apparently every bar maid in San Francisco had also, but Hoshi figured that Malcolm had never had a REAL woman before. He probably just stuck to loose pool hall girls and Starfleet groupies because actually conversing with an intelligent female scared the hell out of him. In fact, every time she’d invited him for a nice intimate lunch alone in the Mess Hall he’d dodged the issue entirely, quietly claiming to have work to do and before quickly walking away with his head down. Well none of that mattered, Hoshi thought with a smile, Malcolm Reed may have been around the block a few times but that British reserve didn’t stand a chance against Hoshi Sato. By the end of the year, his thickly accented voice was going to be begging her to come to his quarters and relieve his acing heart. It was just a matter of time. In some ways, it was actually a good thing she’d been keeping her eyes off Malcolm and on her station because she nearly missed the small blinking light that demoted an incoming hail. Her brow furrowed and she looked over at the light that denoted the Vulcan ship on the Comm board. Nothing, the Surak’s Path wasn’t hailing them. She briefly considered the possibility it was glitch but after five seconds the light didn’t go away. Hoshi checked the view screen and saw no ship save the Vulcan vessel. Strange. The proximity alarms should have at least gone off by now. What ever ship was hailing them must have been completely invisible to any sensor they had. Just as she was about to mention it to Mr. Reed, an explosion rocked the ship and sent Hoshi crashing to the floor. Before she drifted into unconsciousness, Hoshi barely heard Malcolm screaming over the tactical klaxons and exploding panels, “Bridge to Captain Archer, we have a situation!”
Have a comment to make about this story? Do so in the Trip Fan Fiction forum at the HoTBBS! A whole mess of folks have made commentsFinally! Yes, you are busy and so you should be - hope you are studying hard. I'm looking forward to how T'Pol justifies to herself any advances she makes to Trip, and how he can stay true to his need for her to consider his feelings. This is a big chasm between the two characters - can a Vulcan and a human find common ground and have a relationship, or does it all have to be on the terms of one or the other? I'm really hoing you post the next chapter soon. As to T'Pol's behavior, well, here we have proof that de Nile ain't just a river in Africa. I can just see an awkward scene with Seri trying to seduce Trip and T'Pol storming in, spitting nails. Or if not that specific scene, something else good. She needs a wakeup call. I was wondering for quite some tim now, if you would ever continue with this story. What a nice surprise to find finally a new part! But where are you going to take us, hmmm??? What Anna said? Will T´Pol get more emotional? Hmm? Okay, I´ll wait, more or to be correct LESS patiently.... I was wondering for quite some time now, if you would ever continue with this story. What a nice surprise to find finally a new part! But where are you going to take us, hmmm??? What Anna said? Will T´Pol get more emotional? Hmm? Okay, I´ll wait, more or to be correct LESS patiently.... Dying to see how this is going to end and who is attacking Enterprise. Like the fact that Tpol is finding it difficult to show emotion to Trip, makes it more interesting to see how it will all end!!.Please write another chapter sooon, thanks. Great story. I like the "extreme" logical version of T'Pol. She is the ice queen that I am sure will soon melt when she realizes that she may lose Trip.... to her own "less logical" sister! Please don't make us wait too long for Chapter 5. Were still waiiiting......! Hey Cursor....I love your story. Please, please please finish it. You're a great writer. Gift us with an ending. What the hell are ya waitin for? Where's the next part!? Wow, the set-up is incredible. There is no way you can leave us hanging there, you really *have* to continue this story! I loved the interaction between Seri and T'Pol -- and, of course, the interaction between Seri and Trip. I think she is a very fascinating character and I would sure like to know what loosened her up after childhood! Not to mention how I'd like to know how her arrival will loosen T'Pol up. :-) Come on, this is just too good not to be continued!!!
Well i am liking it so far. Though T'pol has said already in the series that she has no siblings i still kinda like this story and the added tension now that her "sister" is on board. So i do hpe to read more...:) Cursor, I really hope you get around to finishing this. It's a really great story so far! What, no continuation! Please, I must know how this end! |
