Part 6

Blood dripped from Farnsworth’s lip, which she had bitten to stifle the curse that promised to spew when she failed to access the data. It is Starfleet issue for goodness sake, she reminded herself. But it was worth a try, she acknowledged turning to look over her shoulder at the sleeping Captain of Enterprise.

She continued to the bathroom, closed the door and opened her bag. Her personal communication device was glowing, indicating that she had missed a call. She turned on the faucet to cover her actions.

“This is Farnsworth,” she answered the question asked at the other end of the device. “Of course I know what the time is.” She held the device away from her ear. “I called as soon as I could.”

Dawn was breaking over the Bay. They had slept with the drapes open, enabling T’Pol to merely roll over to enjoy the view. The day held possibilities as mornings do, some less fortunate than others perhaps, she conceded.

Trip had rolled over while sleeping so when he opened his eyes he was greeted with a view of the T’Pol silhouetted against the sunrise tinted window. He followed the line of her leg to the swell of her hip and the sharp incline to her waist and the long low rise to her shoulder. Her head, resting on a pillow, left an exposed expanse of neck that drew him like a magnet.

He began by nuzzling her ear then working his way down the neck to the hollow where it met her shoulder. She smelled of sleep and warm female, an intoxicating concoction. Feeling bold, he ran his index finger along her ribcage, down to waist, then up over her hips. He let his hand rest on the zenith, while his mouth nibbled its way along the same path. When he reached her waist, he lowered the hand on her hip so that his fingers could play in the thatch between her legs. His mouth took a different path at that point, following her waistline, then her spine until he was nipping at the soft flesh of her buttocks.

She watched the sunrise through glazed eyes. Her focus had shifted to the region that lay south of her navel and north of her thighs. She shifted her body slightly, immediately he took advantage of the greater access. The sensations heightened. Her muscles tightened. Her breathing grew shallow. He responded to each change in her body, knowing intuitively what she needed.

Travis and Hoshi lay spooned. One hand splayed across her stomach, the other holding her hand which was stretched above her head. His mouth rested near her ear.

“When the debriefing ends, we’ll look for a place.” He kissed her temple. “A place where you can write.”

“And lots of bedrooms for babies,” added Hoshi, placing her free hand over the one that rested on her stomach.

“My accumulated leave will last until its time to attend classes,” he reminded her.

“Will you live with me until then,” her question was an invitation.

“That way I can get the nursery ready and help you through the first trimester,” was his way of accepting.

“Do you think you can get two weeks leave, for the baby’s first birthday,” she turned toward him as she asked the question?

“Why do we need two weeks?” He understood that she had asked the question because she had a clear vision of their future.

“The timing would be right to make a sibling for this one,” said the mother of his children.

Soval paced the floor of his office while Enterprise’s senior crew explored interpersonal relationships. His assistant sat straight-backed on a chair in the corner. He had never seen the Ambassador so agitated.

“You are certain he is gone,” Soval asked for the third time.

“I called on the man myself,” the assistant reiterated. “The doors and windows were locked. There was junk mail piled on the stoop. A passing neighbour confirmed that he had left some days before.”

“She is looking for him,” snapped the Ambassador, “Find him before she does.”

While San Francisco was waking up, Hayes and Reed were falling asleep in the arms of women whose names they did not want to remember. Their faces, captured for posterity at functions attended throughout the night, were on digital display all over the city with captions like “Starfleet’s Finest Cocktail Hour.”

Trip and T’Pol were all but forgotten by the transmitters of gossip and innuendo, with the exception of Sheila Farnsworth, who at that moment was pumping Archer for information.

He had been prepared to deny his own pleasure, until she had offered to enact a fantasy that had haunted him for months. Thus he lay on his back, his head between her thighs as she leaned over him, with her hands positioned at his waist. Unable to wait, he strained to reach the hidden prize. Poised within striking distance of his goal he felt her freeze. What the hell shouted the voice in his head?

Puffs of breath formed words on his over sensitized skin, “What was the message from the Captain?”

His inner devil laughed. She had won. The contest of wills was over. Trip capitulated instantly.

“Starfleet has decided that I have ranked out.”

Shocked and heartsick for him, she relented a little, lowering her pelvis, while asking. “You have no hope of future promotion?”

“My career is dead,” he said, making his move, causing her to inhale sharply.

When she had regained the ability to speak, she asked a question to which she already had the answer.

“Perhaps, then, you would accompany me to the moon?”

Jonathan Archer had won the diplomatic war with the Xindi, but lost himself in the process. Was the price too high? The jury was still out on that decision. His success made reaching the rank of admiral a virtual certainty. He was the front runner for the position of Ambassador to somewhere. He no longer needed a reservation at any of San Francisco’s finest restaurants and Porthos had his choice of the finest beagle bitches in the Bay area.

The leap from beagle bitch to newshound was simple and pleasurable. The first time their eyes met it was as if he were looking in a mirror. Her soul was as empty as his, which made it easy for him to respond to her seduction, yet sidestep her attempts to pry secrets from him. He did not care if she hated him in the morning as long as she pretended to want him tonight.

The sun had been up for an hour and she was still pretending. In what was akin to an out of body experience he felt himself respond to her encouragement. She answered his need with a simulated frenzy that unlocked the self-loathing that was the ultimate cost of his success. With a roar he rolled them over, demanding her submission, which to their surprise turned the sham to a casting out of demons and mutual pleasure.

“The strategy is to hide in plain sight.”

T’Pol enunciated each syllable carefully. “I understand the strategy. I refuse to execute it.”

Trip shook his head but refused to give in. “T’Pol, darlin’, I’m open to suggestions.” He waited.

Her eyes darted about the room, taking in every detail. The memory might have to last his lifetime.

“I have none.”

“To the moon, Alice,” cried Trip, sending his fist sweeping upward.

A whole mess of folks have made comments

This is great, I was expecting a new chapter and voila you gave us three new chapters! I had to read them all! I'm glad to see Trip and T'Pol together again, it was too painful to let Trip suffer so long! I like the path you set for Hoshi and Travis, interesting...I was surprise to see Malcolm and Reed hanging out with each other...would be interesting to see how they manage to become "friendly" considering the tension beween the two..especially when the upcoming Harbinger episode is going to show a blow out between them...It would be intersting to see you cover how they got past their differences from that episode to this present story??? Great job! Continue the good work!

Oops, sorry for the typos and the wrong characters, I meant Hayes and Reed when I was discussing their past confrontation....I'm tired as it is 12:15 am Tuesday morning EST....sorry if I did not make sense in my previous post...just like to find out how Hayes and Reed manage to even be in the same room let alone work with each other. Hmmm I hope Trip and T'Pol enjoy their vacation to the moon!

I'm really enjoying this. I wish I had your ability to write three chapters so quickly. All that and entertaining as always. Good stuff.

Aha! This is shaping up to be quite the story, and I'm left sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next.

You´ve surprised me with these chapters and I must admit, I feel a bit like Lt. Brugman = wondering what will happen next, hm.
Thank you for posting three at once!

Does posting three chapters at once mean that we're not going to get any for a long time? I hope not. I particularly liked the part where Trip wakes up to see T'Pol and the sunrise. Good work.

Great chapers and wonderful to see Trip and Tpol together again. Can't understand why everyone is so eager to find Trip though, is he not just on shore leave like the others? Why would Starfleet not want to promote him. He was just as important to the Xindi mission as Archer, yet Archer is getting all the glory.??

Woo Hoo! So, are Trip and T'pol going to cut to the baby making?

Thank you for the three chapters, it was a nice suprise!

Trip's fantasy was HOT-HOT-HOT!!!

Why does she want to go to the moon?
Who is Soval looking for? Why is Trip's career dead? There had to be more to the transmission, like another threat from Archer to demote him if he failed to respond?

Trip and T'pol would make the cutest pregnant couple! *hint-hint*

Oh wow!

1) Hoshi/Travis -- the baby making relationship -- love it. Boomers know as many was to create a baby as to not! Oh my Hoshi you have a lot of fun girl!

2) Reed and Hayes -- pair of hunting dogs that will be to tired to hunt.

3) Oh Jon... you have to find a soul and a desire to live again.

4) Trip you idiot you tossed the most important letter of your life and she doesn't understand your lack of knowledge.

5) what is on the moon?!?!??!!

woooooooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! I so wanted sooomebody to write Hoshi and Travis into a Fic. Even if it is for making babies. And the Trip/T'Pol story is awesome. I hope the captain can regain his soul. Or at least be happy. I hate to see these guys unhappy.
