Chapter Nine

Guilty Dreams

Jolen cursed out loud before taking out his gun and shooting the camera with a gun from his bed. His anger grew with each second. “Fight him!”

“No,” cried the voice in his head.

Jolen concentrated hard, but he knew he could do nothing this far away. The Commander was awake; there was nothing he could do without being near him. Even then there would be very little he could do. Damn him!

“You should calm down, Jolen.”

Jolen glared at the darkness when he heard the voice. “He awakened before I could kill her! Archer and Reed stopped him. Reed’s taking him to the brig, and if he does that I will never be able to finish what I started!”

“You must be patient.”

“I’m tired of being patient! I want him to suffer! I want him dead!”

“He will die. I promise you that. They both will die.”

“You can’t do anything! Not with your people monitoring the situation! So how is he to die?” Jolen shouted in anger.

Daniels paused. “Get something to write with. It’s time for plan B.”

==

“Clear!”

T’Pol’s body jumped up a few inches as they tried to jump-start her heart. Phlox and a nurse stood over her body, hurrying to save her.

“She’s not responding!” yelled the nurse.

“Again!”

Again the pulse shot through T’Pol’s body and her body reacted, jumping up slightly into the air once more. There was a long silence as they waited, hoping for a miracle. Then finally a steady pulsing beep was heard from the machine near the nurse, and Phlox smiled. Archer breathed a sigh and rubbed his face. The Doctor scanned T’Pol’s body before nodding at the nurse, who quickly got his supplies. Phlox then turned toward his Captain. “During the fight her heart was pierced, as well as her lungs. We have to start surgery now or we’ll lose her again. You should probably wait outside for this.”

Archer nodded. “I think I’ll have a little talk with Trip while you work. Tell me when you’re finished.”

“I will, Captain.”

Archer stood and walked out the door. “Dammit,” he muttered, swearing. He then walked down the corridor towards the brig. At least T’Pol was still alive… for now.

==

Archer must have stood before the brig door for a half an hour, unable to walk in. What was he going to say?! He just didn’t know how to react to all this. Trip had attacked T’Pol for god sakes! That meant he was the killer they’d been looking for. ‘And with that thought get the hell in there and figure out what the heck is going on!’ his mind ordered.

Archer rubbed the back of his head and walked inside. From the look inside he could tell that things were not doing well. Trip was lying on the bed staring at the ceiling. Archer could see even from where he was the tears running down from his eyes, and a ghostly look on his face as if he’d just had the scare of his life. Perhaps he had.

Malcolm stood watch, looking more worn out than the Captain had ever seen before. “How is he?” he asked the Lieutenant, his worry showing through.

“How do think he is? He almost bloody killed T’Pol!”

Archer suppressed the urge to bark at his security officer for his disrespect. It was obvious the man was worried about his friend. “Has he talked much?”

“Not really. Not since he got here. He’s just been lying on the bed as he is now. Frankly, I don’t even understand why he’s here,” the last part was mumbled so the Captain wouldn’t hear, but he had.

“I ordered you to take him here for a reason, Lieutenant,” Archer said, this time letting his displeasure at Malcolm’s attitude come through. “Trip attacked a fellow officer. Three others are dead, obviously because of him, and we don’t know a damn about whatever it is affected him like this.”

“Then why not take him to sickbay?” Malcolm asked.

Jonathan sighed. “I had no choice. T’Pol’s condition was far more serious than Trip’s. Until T’Pol’s at least secure, Phlox needs to focus on her. We both know someone is using Trip for whatever reason, but what we don’t know is how. Until Phlox is ready Trip needs to be secured in a place where no harm will come to any more of my crew.
Whether you would like to admit it or not, Malcolm, Trip is the killer we’ve been after. He’s dangerous… at least until we figure out what’s triggering these attacks.”

Finally Reed nodded in acceptance, realizing how far he’d gone in questioning Archer’s actions. The Captain turned to look back at Trip before hitting the door’s console to let him enter. Jon walked in slowly, though Trip didn’t move. Archer knew the Commander had heard him. “Trip?”

Tucker sucked in a small breath, held it there, then let it go slowly. “Is she okay?” His voice was shaky and filled with pain as if it were tangible, and as Jon looked at his best friend he knew that sometimes it could be tangible. The man before him seemed to have pain falling from his pores. He was suffering, of that the Captain sure.

“While taking her to sickbay her heart stopped,” he began, and noticed Tucker’s eyes close tight. “The Doctor was able to revive her just in time. Her heart was pierced slightly so the Doctor is in surgery with her.”

“Will she be all right?” he then asked. Jon noticed such sorrow in his voice.

“I think she’ll be fine,” Archer assured his friend.

Trip nodded.

“Trip, what happened?” Jon then asked gently.

“I dunno, Cap’n. I just dunno. One minute I was asleep, the next I was starin’ up at you with these actions hitting my brain like a rock. It was like I was a sleepwalker wakin’ up from a nightmare! I could see what I did in my mind, but it felt like an out of body experience. I couldn’t handle the images of hurting T’Pol. I just kept cryin’ askin’ to have him outta my mind.”

“Who?”

“I dunno! Jolen maybe? I can’t tell ya what’s happenin,' Cap’n, but I can say that somethin’ is goin’ on with me that I just can’t understand. It’s like I’m outta my skin, like I’m not me anymore. I tried to ignore the feelin’ and think about somethin’ else, but maybe I was right.”

Archer took another step closer. “We’ll figure this all out, Trip.”

“Maybe, but what about T’Pol? How do I look at her and not think about her blood on my hands? I could just see it so clearly. It wasn’t me Cap’n, but yet those memories… I was stabbin’ her. I’d come to her quarters because I was worried about her, I’d wanted to protect her and I end up stabbin’ her!” More tears fell down Trip’s face as Trip shook his head. “I love her so much, Cap’n. I love her like I’ve never been in love before. All those other women felt like nothin’ compared to her, and now I may have lost her forever.”

“You haven’t lost her, Trip,” Archer fought.

“I can’t face her, not when it was me who hurt her like this.” Trip’s hands covered his face as he wept. “I just can’t deal with these memories.”

“Trip, it’s going to be okay,” Jon tried to assure him.

“No!” Trip sat up. “No, it’s not gonna be okay, Cap’n! It’s never gonna be okay! I may have lost the only person in my life that I trust more than anything else! I don’t even think I could face her after what happened! I could see her eyes, Cap’n. I’ve never seen her so afraid. She was lookin’ at me… with those eyes… so filled with fear… fear of me. How can things be okay? People are sufferin’! Sindy died alone, Vince is dead, as well as Tess and Rostov, and T’Pol’s in sickbay barely hangin’ on! All of that was because of me! I thought that what happened before with Sim and all that was my fault, but that doesn’t even compare to this! This was caused because of MY choice! Sindy died alone. If I had died with her Jolen wouldn’t be doin’ this!”

“Trip, listen to yourself! Just because you’re still alive doesn’t mean this is your fault!”

“Three people are dead, Cap’n! I killed them with my own hands. Their deaths are on MY hands! I killed them, dammit!”

“This wasn’t your fault! It wasn’t you who did this! Jolen wanted revenge!”

“I let his daughter die!”

“There was nothing you could do!”

Trip paused. “Are ya sure? He needs someone to blame and so he blamed Peter and me. The fact of the matter is… he holds us accountable, and so do I. I could have saved her if I wanted to. I could have ignored Admiral Forrest and tried to save her some other way. I could have put my commission on the line so I could save her, but I didn’t. I followed orders, and those orders got a little kid killed. Killed Cap’n… and to top it all off she died alone and scared. I was there when the crew went back in that room to see what went wrong. I saw her body. Just the sight made me sick! I can’t even look at her. I had nightmares about it for years. Peter had it worse. Thankfully he had someone at his side to help him through. That had been the only thing that kept Peter from completely hating himself. I had someone, too. My family had been there for me. Other friends had done everythin’ they could to help me. The guilt had been so overpowerin’, but I made it. I made it out okay. Jolen had nobody. Nobody, Cap’n. He lost his wife, then his daughter, and he was alone. That kind of pain can get a hell of a lot worse when you’re alone. Jolen was alone. When he lost Sindy, he alone.”

“Hey Trip, never forget that you have saved millions… perhaps billions of lives! When the Xindi became a threat you saved this ship more times than anyone could count!”

Trip jumped off the bed and looked Jonathan in the eye. “I know, Cap’n, and I’m tryin’ to get past the guilt, but every time somethin’ like this happens it all just floods back. It’s chokin’ me till I can’t even breathe. When Sim was killed to save Enterprise I thought things couldn’t get worse! I thought this was as guilty as a man could get! Now that seems like child’s play. Compared to this… that was all child’s play. I could have saved Sindy. I tried to save Sim, but he didn’t want my help. I never wanted him to be created in the first place just to save my life! It hadn’t been my decision, though. I understand now that it hadn’t been my fault. It took me a while, but I finally realized it. The cogenitor had made the choice herself to die as well, just like Sim. I know now that I had little to do with all that, but this is different. My choice all those years ago, that was on me and I made the wrong one. Now T’Pol is in sickbay, and it was my hands that killed some of my friends. Those were my fault. I’ve lost so much because of this, Cap’n. I may have lost T’Pol forever.” Trip closed his eyes. “The things that have happened to me in the past seem so little now, so insignificant. I could have killed T’Pol, Cap’n. She means everythin’ to me and I could have killed her.” His voice was in a whisper by now as he sunk to the floor and covered his face with his hands. Jon went down with him, sitting right next to his friend.

Jonathan didn’t know what to say. He really had no idea what he could say. He’d never seen Trip like this. Finally Jon put a hand on Tucker’s shoulder. “I know, Trip. I know.” Trip’s head hung low as the tears dropped from his eyes. More of this and Jon was sure he’d be crying with the guy. He had to figure out what was happening.

==

Archer had been staying to comfort Trip for nearly three hours when they got the call from Phlox. T’Pol was resting and the damage had been repaired. The Doctor had even assured the two men that T’Pol would be up and about in a few days, though she would be unable to go back to duty for at least a week and a half. Trip had practically kicked Archer out to go see T’Pol and talk to the Doctor about her, to the amusement of
Jonathan. The man truly was in love with T’Pol, and despite the situation Jon couldn’t help but chuckle at Trip’s worried nature, even after hearing T’Pol would be okay.

Still, Archer did feel the need to run as fast as possible to see for himself that everything would be okay. Jonathan paused in front of the sickbay door and steadied himself before walking in.

Phlox smiled. “Ah Captain. How is Commander Tucker?”

Archer paused as he thought of his friend. “He’s not doing too well, Doctor. I think maybe you should talk to him. He’s always been able to trust you with these things, and frankly I don’t think I could take seeing him like this anymore. The man won’t sleep! He wouldn’t eat any breakfast either. He’s losing it. I can just see his sanity melting away after all of this.”

“It’s that bad?” Phlox asked in surprise.

“It’s worse, Doctor. It’s much worse,” Archer whispered back. After a long amount of time passed between them in silence the Captain spoke up once again. “How’s T’Pol?”

Phlox smiled, relieved at the change in conversation. “If it had been a human that this happened to I doubt they’d come out of the surgery this well. Her body is healing rapidly, and though there were organs other than her heart that had been punctured I really don’t think she’ll be stuck in that bed too long.”

“Can I talk to her?”

“In a few hours. For now she needs rest. She’s been through quite an ordeal. I doubt she’d have the strength to talk at this point in time.”

Archer nodded and walked over to her sleeping body to take her hand in his. “Trip really cares about her, Phlox.”

“I know.”

“I just can’t believe when I walked into her quarters, Trip was trying to kill her. It just doesn’t make sense.”

“It could be his subconscious. Commander Tucker has always been prone to keeping feelings inside. Perhaps his guilt over Sim and the others who he believes he’s responsible for is the reason for all this. It could be that his self hate has made him while asleep attack those he cares about most.”

“No, he told me he’s found a way to get through that, that T’Pol was helping him deal with what happened. He was doing fine. For a month he was finally getting past all the pain he’s been forced to deal with. And if he really was attacking those closest to him, why not kill me, a man who’s known him for years? Or why not kill Malcolm, who’s gotten close to him too? Trip once told me Malcolm was one of his closest friends! Why not kill him? Why did it take three people dead before T’Pol was killed? She’s the closest one to him. He should have killed her first. It just doesn’t fit.”

“Then maybe there’s more to this than what meets the eye. Perhaps I should have him come here so I may examine him?”

“Examine him?” Archer questioned him.

“If this is not a mental problem then there must be an outside force that is making him do these things. If I examine him perhaps I can find out who is behind all this.”

Archer cracked a smile, nodding. “Okay Doctor. I’ll talk to Trip about it.”

Phlox inclined his head, and then turned to check out the screen monitoring T’Pol.

==

That afternoon when Archer came to check on Trip he found the man pacing back and forth in the brig, looking just as unsettled as he had when Jon had left him. He seemed deep in thought, so deep in fact that he hadn’t even noticed Archer enter the brig with him.

“Trip?”

He didn’t stop pacing. His mind seemed to be in another world.

“Trip!”

That got his attention as he jumped and swung around to look at his visitor. “Cap’n, how’s T’Pol?”

Archer smiled. He couldn’t have been worried about T’Pol this entire time, could he?

He’d seen his friend in love before, but this was way beyond any relationship he’d seen the man have. “She’s fine. I even spoke with her not but an hour ago.”

Tucker let out a relived sigh before turning around, his head touching the top bunk of the bed. “Good… I’m glad she’s okay.”

Jonathan frowned. “She asked me about you. She wanted to know if you were all right.”

Trip smiled. “That’s just like her. Came close to bein’ in the after life and she’s worried about how I’m doin’. I tried to kill her and she’s worried about me.” Archer could still feel the sorrow in his voice, even as he smiled. Trip was trying to suppress his feelings, but they were there, the Captain could feel it.

“We didn’t get to talk long because she was still pretty out of it. In fact we only talked for less than a minute, but I knew she was worried about you. To tell you the truth, I’m worried about you too.”

Trip turned around in surprise at that. “Worried about me? Well I can’t understand why! I mean, just because I’ve killed three people and was close to killin’ the woman I love more than life itself, forcin’ me to almost go through a mental breakdown doesn’t mean
ya haffta worry,” the Commander muttered in one breath, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Jonathan frowned. He knew Trip was upset, but he needed to keep a cool head. “The Doctor and I have been talking about what could be happening to you. Now obviously we agree that something must be happening to you that we just can’t understand. That’s why Phlox is going to run a few scans so we can see what’s really going on.”

The Commander shook his head. “I don’t know Cap’n, I’ve never liked bein’ cooped up in sickbay too long. And I wouldn’t want to distract him from takin’ care of T’Pol.”

“Relax, Trip. T’Pol only needs rest at this point. Right now we need to focus on you if we’re going to figure out why all this happened.”

Finally Trip nodded. “When?”

Archer gave his friend a comforting smile. “Come with me.”

“Now?”

“Now.”

Tucker sighed. “Fine… now.” With that he followed his Captain out, though he was becoming increasingly more uncomfortable with each second.

==

Commander Tucker didn’t even want to be in the same room as T’Pol at this point, but he had no choice. In fact, just being out of the brig worried him. He was a killer for god sakes! He should be locked up with the key thrown right out the window! Trip knew he couldn’t be behind the awful things that had been happening to his friends, but he DID know he was dangerous even with two MACOs watching him like a hawks.

Still, he held his feelings in and endured his time in sickbay. Finally Phlox paused his scans of Trip’s brain with a sharp turn towards Captain Archer. “I think I’ve found something!”

Trip frowned as Archer ran over to the Doctor to see what he’d been looking at. Then Archer’s eyes also widened as both looked at Trip. “How could this happen without Trip knowing about it?”

“It could be that his memories were suppressed along with any other memories of killing Harren, Lawrence, and Rostov.”

Tucker ran a hand through his hair. “What the hell are you two talkin’ bout?” Finally they let him see the scans Phlox had taken of his brain. Trip saw right away what they were talking about. A small organic implant located near the base of his brain, along with thousands, perhaps millions of small also organic probes surrounding his brain. “What the hell?!” he breathed in surprise. “H- ho- how?” he managed to ask.

“Perhaps it was while you were alone with one of the cargo crewmembers? Either way, whether you remember or not, this implant could be what’s controlling you,” Phlox answered.

“And the small probes?”

Archer sighed. “They have one hell of a complex structure. This is far beyond anything we’ve seen before. They may be what’s suppressing your memories.”

“Can we destroy them?”

Phlox let out a small sigh. “The probes perhaps, but the implant would be far more difficult. I can start with basic radiation for the probes for now. As for the implant, it seems to be damaged slightly.”

“Think I could have damaged it when I pushed Trip off T’Pol?” Archer asked.

Phlox paused to think that one through. “The implant’s organic properties would make it hard to target with radiation, but it would be affected if Trip was hit at that point where the implant is. There is a chance that is how it was damaged, but it is still working.”

“Damn,” Archer cursed.

Trip let that sink in, before his mind settled on one last issue. “Doc, if you destroy the probes… how will it affect the memories bein’ suppressed?”

“More than likely they will resurface,” the Doctor told him.

Tucker nodded. “Then we should hurry. If these memories do resurface it could show me who’s behind all this! I mean, think about it. Obviously there’s somethin’ there that needs to be suppressed if I could be implanted with these things, it’s important to find out what. I need to see what happened.”

“Trip, you do realize you’d be watching your friends die? Your memories of T’Pol being hurt weren’t suppressed because you were knocked out of the trance you were in… if you do this the memories of all those others you hurt and killed would resurfaced. You’d watch them die by your own hands,” the Captain reminded his friend.

Tucker nodded. “That’s just a chance I’ll haffta take. I need to do this. Whoever is controlling me forced me to try and kill T’Pol. They forced me to kill friends. I want to find out who did this.” The Commander breathed in deeply. “I wanna find them and I wanna kill them with my bare hands.”

Jonathan smiled. “Not exactly acting like the model Starfleet officer, but there’s not anyone on Earth who would convict you.”

“Ya damn right,” Trip muttered. “I’m countin’ on it!”

Archer then turned to Phlox and nodded. “All right Doctor, I think you two should get started.”

“Aye Captain. I’ll begin right away.” Phlox turned and gathered everything he would need to help Trip.

While he was busy doing that Jon gave a supportive pat on his friend’s shoulder, but as he was turning to leave Trip grabbed his arm. “Cap’n?”

“Yes?”

“I could use ya here… if ya don’t mind I mean….”

Archer grinned. “I’ll be right here.”

Trip smiled back, relieved. “Thanks.”

==

For four hours… for four damn hours Trip had been cooped up in that bio scanner. Archer paced the room as Phlox busied himself with the treatment. Finally the Doctor smiled. “It’s working,” he told Jon.

Jonathan turned back around and walked over next to the Doctor. “How is he?”

Phlox sighed. “The memories are going from the last to the first. He’s experiencing the last memory now.”

Archer nodded, praying that Trip could handle the images. “It’s going to be okay, Trip. Just stay with us. Just endure,” he whispered. “Just hold on.”

It was then that he heard a loud painful scream coming from Trip.

==

Trip cried out as the memory cleared in his mind. There had been a struggle. Rostov had tried to run, to get away, but Trip had been too strong. After pulling Rostov inside he’d taken out the weapon, the knife his father had given him. “Commander… what… what are you doing?”

Tucker smiled. “You know exactly what I’m doing… don’t you?” he’d said with no sign of his normal southern accent.

Rostov’s eyes widened as he connected the dots. “It really was you,” he whispered, knowing this was the end. “But why?”

“Justice must be served,” had been Tucker’s only reply. Trip began to walk towards him just as Rostov walked back. When he tried to run Tucker grabbed his arm with one hand then pounded the knife into Rostov’s back with the other. Rostov fell to the floor, crying out in pain. The Commander could see the blood fall from Rostov’s body as the engineer fell into unconsciousness. A smug expression appeared on Trip’s face before he turned and left for his own quarters.

~*~

The next image was of Tess Lawrence working at the console that had killed her. Tucker stood in a dark corner of engineering working the console before him. A smile appeared on his face as he looked from across the room to see Tess’ console explode and her uniform catch fire. The woman cried out in pain as she fell back and onto the floor, the fire burning her arms and legs first. Trip walked away from his hiding place and out of engineering just slow enough to hear her final cry as the fire consumed her body slowly, melting her skin and bones, before she passed out from the pain.

~*~

The last image showed Vince Harren noticing from his console that the power in one of the plasma cannons was near empty. Trip stood nearby, watching the Lieutenant intently as he made his way through the hatch. He followed closely behind, making sure no one watched him come in. “Commander?” Harren said in surprise.

Trip gave a small smile. “Why don’t you get that power cell I left there so we can replace this thing, eh?”

Harren nodded, smiling back as he turned around and went down to pick up the power cell, only to feel a large jolt of electricity fly through his body till his heart was stalled and Harren fell over on the floor. Tucker leaned down. “Guess I got the wrong power cell,” he remarked before turning around and leaving the room, along with Harren’s dead body.

~*~

Trip had thought it was over; that his memories were complete, until yet another memory forced its way to the surface. It was a memory of him and Tybris walking into the Captain’s quarters.

As soon as they were inside Tybris turned and looked at Trip, a frown on his face. “So Trip, have you ever met a man named Jolen Croft?”

“Croft? Sure, I knew him for years. He was like a brother to me. How do you-“

“How I know of him is of no consequence. What is important is that you are responsible for his daughter’s death.”

Trip took a step back, surprised. “It wasn’t my fault. I couldn’t save her.”

“Liar! You could have helped her, but you made the choice not to! It was up to you and Peter Miller to save her! Jolen trusted you and you stabbed him in the back by letting the only thing he had left die! You let her die, and where I come from that is just as wrong as murder!” Tybris took a few steps closer to Trip just as Trip took a step back, his back hitting the wall. His heart beat faster with each second that went by. “You let my daughter die!”

Tucker’s eyes widened as he looked Tybris in his eyes, finally seeing what he should have seen the moment he’d met the cargo ship Captain. “Jolen?”

Jolen smiled, clapping his hands. “Bravo, Trip… you got it without any help from me at all,” the man muttered sarcastically. “You know, for someone you thought of as a brother, you’d think you would have recognized me even with all the changes I made.”

“Jolen… I… I can’t believe it’s you,” Trip whispered.

Croft glared at the engineer. “Look, you son of a bitch! I told you I wouldn’t let you get away with this and now I’m here to make sure my promise comes to be!” Jolen then grabbed a hypospray from his desk before his hand reached for Trip’s neck, choking him. Trip had wanted to react, to do something, but he couldn’t move. He just froze, watching as the hypospray moved towards him.

“What are ya gonna do?” he asked in a whisper.

Jolen cocked his head, the hypospray right next to his neck. “I’m gonna make sure everyone you care about suffers and dies before finally you kill yourself, just like what happened to Peter Miller. You will suffer just as I have, and pray that your life ends by the end. The only thing that’s kept me alive all these years is the knowledge that one day you two would be dead. With Peter out of the way, that only leaves you.”

Trip was about to move when the hypospray touched his neck and his world began to fall away into nothingness. Jolen moved his lips up to Trip’s ear. “Everyone you love will die by your hands, Trip. They will see you as the murderer you truly are. You will be alone, and the best part is, you’ll be showing and telling me exactly who to kill each time. Goodbye Trip.”

Tucker tried to call out, to cry for help, but he couldn’t speak. His body lost feeling. He was slowly falling away with no way of stopping it. Finally he managed to cry out. “No,” he yelled, though to everyone around it was as faint as a whisper. Finally his eyelids grew heavy and closed, surrounding him with darkness, his heart pounding in his chest. He was gone.

==

Trip banged hard on the walls surrounding him, terror grabbing his very being as he awoke from the memories. He yelled at the top of his lungs, tears rolling down his face as he asked to be let out. “Take me out of here! Get me out of here!” he shouted over and over again.

Finally the board under him moved out and he could see his body leaving the confined space. His breathing normalized as he saw Doctor Phlox’s worried expression. “Commander? You’re safe; you’re going to be okay. Just calm down.”

Trip jumped off the bio bed, but was too weak to go anywhere as finally his legs buckled out from under him and he came crashing down to the floor, his eyes closing as the darkness swallowed him whole.

Ouch, painful but finally Trip is getting all the details even if the shock and pain of it is so intense. There is no way he could relive that kind of malicious manipulation without suffering massive trauma and sorrow. Can't wait to see how you resolve this and I really hope we find out why Daniels the creep is doing this before he is blown to smithereens in every timeline imaginable. Ali D :~)

I HATE JOLEN AND DANIELS !!!!!
What did poor Trip do to deserve this ???
I have almost cried when I read this story .
Please, keep Updateing . This story is great !!!!

Wow! This is quite interesting, but poor Trip! Even knowing he wasn't truly responsible, 3 of his friends are still dead.

This story is like watching Law and Order, you don't know what kind of twist is going to be thrown at you next, but you know it's going to be good, and you know it's going to tear at your heartstrings. Keep it up, I can't wait to see more!

Not Trip!! Why is stupid-Daniels-garbage-face doing this? Trip's suffered enough, he doesn't deserve this. He deserves to live a long, happy life with T'Pol and their thirteen children, where he designs great engines, she learns that humans aren't terribly logical, and a happy ending is had by all. Whew. Stupid Jolen.

Great story, by the way, keep 'em comin'. :)
